Last week, a container of 574,000 nutrient packed meals arrived in Mogadishu, Somalia! We are so grateful to our partners who played a crucial role in making this all happen. Lifeline Christian Mission packed up and shipped all of these meals, and our in country partners at Elman Peace accepted the containers at port and set up distributions in IDP camps and in Mogadishu. We are immensely grateful to both of these incredible organizations for all that they do for our friends in Somalia.
After a gradual recovery from the famine of 2011, Somalia’s food security is under threat again. Consecutive seasons of extremely low rainfall and rising temperatures have caused crops and livestock to die, rapidly diminishing millions of people’s access to food. These meals are needed now more than ever, and it has been amazing to have the resources to help these families in Mogadishu.
We are continually amazed at the generosity that we’ve been able to witness through friends like you. In total, we have provided 911,000 meals though our partnerships with Lifeline Christian Ministry and the World Food Programme. We are all so grateful for your support!
