International Women’s Day is this Sunday, March 8, and we are celebrating the incredible women in our programs around the world. This weekend, we are highlighting the power of community through our Love Does Boutiques in San Diego and Ukraine. Though separated by oceans, the heartbeat is the same.

In San Diego and Ukraine, single moms are invited into a completely free shopping experience where they can choose baby supplies, baby and kids clothing, women’s clothing, books, and household items. Each month, moms walk in carrying the weight of so much, and they leave feeling loved, cared for, and valued.

One San Diego mom shared:
“Being part of Love Does during this season of my life has allowed me to do legacy work. I’m rebuilding not just for myself, but for my children. So what I build today becomes the foundation they stand on tomorrow.”

In Ukraine, we hear similar gratitude almost daily:
“Thank you so much for your support, warm conversations, generous gifts, and the incredible atmosphere you created for us during this difficult time.”

Whether in California or in the middle of war, the Boutique is more than clothing and supplies. It is emotional stability, showing new moms they are not alone, congratulating one another on births and offering encouragement in group chats that now run on their own because real community has formed.

This is what we are celebrating on International Women’s Day: steady, practical support that turns into real community.
