A few weeks ago in the Dominican Republic, we hosted a Dream Big dinner with several women in our entrepreneurship class from the Love Does Women’s Resource Center. The night felt like one big reminder that hope has a way of growing when people feel seen and believed in.
Around the table, we listened as women shared the kinds of dreams that start small but carry enormous hearts. Some hoped to launch delivery based cleaning products to make life easier for families in their communities. Others shared visions of starting home delivery meat shops or creating beauty and cosmetic businesses that offer services their neighborhoods don’t currently have. Another shared her desire to open a peaceful space where people can receive facials and massages and walk out feeling restored.
By the end of the evening, we were able to award each woman a microgrant to help them take the first step toward turning their dreams into reality. We walked away inspired, grateful, and humbled by their determination and the bright futures they are building one brave step at a time.
