Love Does first stepped into Nepal in the aftermath of the 2015 earthquake. In the middle of loss and uncertainty, we met families and children whose routines, schooling, and sense of safety had been deeply disrupted. School days were shortened or inconsistent, and many students were falling behind, not because they lacked ability, but because they lacked stability and support.

What started next was simple and relational. We opened a small after-school space where kids could come when the school day ended. It was a place to sit with trusted adults, get help with homework, ask questions, and feel safe again. From the very beginning, the goal wasn’t just academics, it was presence. Showing up consistently. Learning names. Listening. Creating a steady place where kids could land each afternoon.

Over the past decade, that simple beginning has grown into a dependable after-school program serving students day after day. Children arrive with backpacks and energy, and they’re met with encouragement, structure, and care. Academic support remains central, but so does emotional well-being, mentorship, and the reminder that they are known and valued.

We are deeply grateful for Rabi, who has faithfully led this program from the very beginning. For 10 years, Rabi has shown up day after day, building trust with students and families, mentoring staff, and carrying the heart of Love Does into this community.

To continue the celebration, we are in the early stages of planning a Vision Trip for the first week of November 2026. If you are interested in joining us, email riley@lovedoes.org.
